Dr. Michele Mauro
DVMDr. Mauro began working as a vet assistant in a prominent north shore animal hospital when she was 15 years old. She received her undergraduate degree from Cornell University. Upon graduation, Dr. Mauro interned as a research assistant specializing in diabetes at Long Island Jewish Hospital. She is a published author in the Journal of Endocrinology. Dr. Mauro attended vet school at the University of Florida, graduating with high honors in 1995. She has been practicing at Southgate Animal Hospital since 1995 and was promoted to Medical Director in 1997. She currently resides in West Babylon with her husband, Guy, her daughter, Alyssa, and her cat, Tweek and new pup, Toby.

DVMSouthgate Animal Hospital welcomes, Dr. Mark Betts. . Dr. Betts is a Long Island native that grew up in Nassau County. After earning his bachelors in veterinary science from Becker College, he went on to obtain his veterinary degree from Ross University. . When not at work he enjoys spending time scuba diving, breeding tropical fish, and relaxing with his dog, Suki and cat, Isis. . Dr. Betts enjoys treating all animals and has a special interest in exotics especially ferrets and reptiles.
